In our latest interview, we had Jeff Grass, Chairman and CEO of Hungry, who gave us an overview of the current market and how they at Hungry are adapting to the new era of food service. Hungry is a marketplace which provides office and event catering by giving exclusive access to top chefs making incredible food.

We had an in-depth discussion about some of the biggest challenges facing corporate catering in the 21st century and how to navigate these.

Jeff also shares the learnings of rolling Hungry out across the US and how they have scaled and sustained the core of their culture.

Being in the Arena.

It's hard to show up every day consistently.

I read this bit of Theodore Roosevelt every morning and it helps me to embrace the day ahead and its challenges. This passage comes from his famous speech, 'Citizenship in a Republic'. It's about standing strong when tested.

“It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better.

The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood;

who strives valiantly;

who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming;

but who does actually strive to do the deeds;

who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions;

who spends himself in a worthy cause;

who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.
