πŸŽ§πŸŽ™ Maverick Talk πŸš€πŸŽ§ - How to get more brain power 🧠

Published 2 months agoΒ β€’Β 3 min read

How do you have ENOUGH brain power to achieve your ambitions for 2024?

How do you keep momentum on the most important things when your mind is cluttered up?

The year has started, and you are back in the arena.

Opportunities and challenges are coming at you with speed from every corner. - Your brain quickly fills up with things you need to do in life and business. - Your brain quickly reaches its capacity. - Then, your emotions start to get the better of you = overwhelmed!

In January, I joined the BETA β€œMicro Blog” course by The DO Lectures and found a hack that has transformed my brain capacity.

David Hieatt taught us an exercise called β€œThe Clearing”.

It’s super SIMPLE!

Here is how it works:

Grab a notebook and a piece of paper and write everything that is going on in your head down.

From what is going on to what you need to get done in your life and business - no limitations - get all down.

I now do this for 5-10 minutes most mornings - I promise you - it’s powerful.πŸš€

Because.

When you get stuff out of your head, you ask better questions.

What are your secret hacks to gain more brain power?

THE GUIDE TO BUYING TECH

Our friends over at Vita Mojo shared with us their excellent new guide on how to master buying technology for your hospitality business.

I have been reading it, and it's awesome - I wish I had it when I was an operator.

They shed a light on:

  1. Why are so many restaurant operators (67% at the larger brands) putting up with tech they're frustrated by?
  2. Where do you even start when it comes to buying technology?

You'll get:

  • Step-by-step guides on understanding your current tech setup and business goals.
  • Over 40 questions to ask potential tech vendors.
  • A vendor scorecard to help you compare different providers.
  • Advice and insights from industry experts on how to approach changing tech.

Their "Tech Buyer’s Guide" takes the stress and confusion out of the tech buying process and equips you with the tools to make the right choice for your business.

THE BETTER HOSPITALITY CONFERENCE IS BACK

This is, for me, the most exciting Hospitality Conference of the year. It all happens on the 18th and 19th of March in London at Mercato Metropolitano. It's all about hospitality as a force for good - how to make more positive impact on people, society and the planet.

I'm humbled that Domini and the team and Tried and Supplied have invited me to join as a participant, speaker, and moderator this year.

The line-up is incredible this year - to mention a few: Kitty Newman, Priya Narain, Henry Dimbleby, Andrea Rasca, and Peter Backman.

You don't want to miss this.

Hospitality Mavericks

by Michael Tingsager

We wanted to show there was another way to build and lead businesses. So Hospitality Mavericks was born. We wanted to gather together the world’s Mavericks who do things differently from the norm. They are leaders from all walks of life who have shown and proven that there is a better way forward without cashing out on their values; ripping off their people, community and planet. That was over ten years ago. Since then we've worked with and interviewed more than 200 leaders, thinkers and experts on the best way to build a business that makes a positive impact on all stakeholders. We are the home to impactful leaders that KNOW and DO things in a better way. A network for those seeking a different path. So don’t just be like the others! Dare to Be Different ✊

Wise selfishness vs foolish selfishness.Last week, I was captivated by a Netflix documentary featuring the late Desmond Tutu and the Dalai Lama titled "Joy." Here, they discuss how to find joy and happiness during troubled times. At some point in the interview, they discuss the need to care for yourself without hurting others. They state that you must take care of yourself, or you can not survive or be helpful to others. But caring for oneself should not hurt others. The Daila Lama brings up...

The Power of Positive Energy.None of us can expect to get through life and work without obstacles. Life and work do not always go our way.But that does not mean you can’t navigate it better. You need more POSITIVE ENERGY.In my work observing what Maverick leaders KNOW and DO, I have found that they see positive energy as THE fuel for driving themselves and their organisation to greatness. When I talk about positive energy, I do not think about the rah-rah kind. I think about:- Optimism.-...
