πŸŽ§πŸŽ™ Maverick Talk πŸš€πŸŽ§ - An organisation is only as good as the worst behaviour it accepts.

Published 22 days agoΒ β€’Β 1 min read

An organisation is only as good….

…as the worst behaviour it accepts.

Often, this group is a small fraction of the team that sets the tone for the rest.

Their actions and attitude can if left unchecked.

Significantly influence the organisation's culture and performance.

Good or bad.

The leader's job is:
- Setting clear expectations around behaviour and performance.
- Providing consistent feedback and support.
- Courageously addressing behaviours that don’t align with our values.

To ensure that you can do that well, you need to define what good looks like.

Therefore, writing and implementing your book of culture is vital to ensure that people know what good looks like here.

What behaviours are we, perhaps inadvertently, accepting in our organisations?

Hospitality Mavericks

by Michael Tingsager

We wanted to show there was another way to build and lead businesses. So Hospitality Mavericks was born. We wanted to gather together the world’s Mavericks who do things differently from the norm. They are leaders from all walks of life who have shown and proven that there is a better way forward without cashing out on their values; ripping off their people, community and planet. That was over ten years ago. Since then we've worked with and interviewed more than 200 leaders, thinkers and experts on the best way to build a business that makes a positive impact on all stakeholders. We are the home to impactful leaders that KNOW and DO things in a better way. A network for those seeking a different path. So don’t just be like the others! Dare to Be Different ✊

Wise selfishness vs foolish selfishness.Last week, I was captivated by a Netflix documentary featuring the late Desmond Tutu and the Dalai Lama titled "Joy." Here, they discuss how to find joy and happiness during troubled times. At some point in the interview, they discuss the need to care for yourself without hurting others. They state that you must take care of yourself, or you can not survive or be helpful to others. But caring for oneself should not hurt others. The Daila Lama brings up...

The Power of Positive Energy.None of us can expect to get through life and work without obstacles. Life and work do not always go our way.But that does not mean you can’t navigate it better. You need more POSITIVE ENERGY.In my work observing what Maverick leaders KNOW and DO, I have found that they see positive energy as THE fuel for driving themselves and their organisation to greatness. When I talk about positive energy, I do not think about the rah-rah kind. I think about:- Optimism.-...
